Overview
Maintenance Trades Helper:
Bowhead seeks a Maintenance Trades Helper to support a newly awarded contract at Whiteman AFB providing highly reliable wired telecommunications and networked voice, video and data services. The Maintenance Trade Helper shall perform Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and other services required to ensure the Base Telecommunications System (BTS) is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Responsibilities
Job duties include but are not limited to:
+ Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly
+ building systems operate efficiently; or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
+ Inspect; operate; or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them
+ checking blueprints; repair manuals; or parts catalogs; as necessary
+ Assemble;,install, or repair wiring,electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
+ Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions following checklists
+ Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
+ Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges
+ Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools; and reassemble equipment
+ Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work
+ Follow all company, DoD, and industry safety standards while performing all duties on site
+ Follow all company Quality SOP's while performing all duties on site
+ Providing customer support and education; working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use
Qualifications
+ Basic practical knowledge of several maintenance trades in order to perform most of the following: building; electrical and plumbing maintenance.
+ Must be able to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools; such as hammers; hoists; saws; drills; and wrenches; to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
+ Frequent schedule and priority changes are common for this position. Examples of duties for this position.
+ Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
+ Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
+ working on ladders, in confined spaces, and use of a respirator
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
