Scala Engineer at AKKODIS

Akkodis is seeking a Scala Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). You will design and develop a scalable swaps lifecycle and booking platform and work closely with multiple teams to ensure solutions meet high performance and maintainability standards.

 

Rate Range: $67/hour to $77/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

 

Scala engineer job responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing scalable solutions for the next-generation swaps lifecycle and booking platform.

• Collaborating with application development, DBA, and UNIX teams to analyze requirements and create efficient, maintainable solutions.

• Leading software engineers to implement database best practices and delivering high-performance solutions.

• Performing end-to-end impact assessments for technical changes, ensuring minimal disruption to upstream and downstream systems.

• Conducting proof of concept (POC) work and research to adopt leading practices for scalable and reliable solutions.

• Tuning SQL queries, managing procedures, functions, and optimizing performance on large-scale databases like Oracle Exadata.

• Contributing to database capacity planning and resource management for optimal performance on enterprise-level systems.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in database architecture and development.

• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Exadata or similar MPP databases.

• Strong expertise in OLTP systems, data warehousing, and query performance tuning.

Pay Details: $67.00 to $77.00 per hour
