Scale House Attendant Job Description
We seek a dedicated individual who will work in the scalehouse as a Scale Attendant at a busy Energy-from-Waste facility:
" Monitor inbound/outbound truck activity.
" Acquire and monitor accurate truck weights.
" Communicate with various departments any scale operational issues or any information they are requesting regarding tonnage
" Keep accurate records of all tickets, manifests and supplies.
" Handle special projects assigned by supervisor and any other related duties.
" Obtain information from O&D form from driver & confirm all information is correct
" Ensuring that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material based on O&D form
" Enter truck information into computer systems.
" Weigh trucks in and out.
" Ensure Weekly Walkdowns are completed
" Ensure Drivers are in compliance with DEP Regulations/Safety Rules
" Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
" Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.
" Approach all encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
" Answer the telephone and provide information to the public regarding hours of operation
" Keep immediate supervisor informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
Position Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent coupled with one to three years of experience with administrative, clerical and accounting activities.
Candidate must be flexible to work different shifts, including Saturdays/Holidays and Sundays if necessary.
Candidate must be highly organized, along with having knowledge of basic principles of records management.
Must possess skills in working within deadlines to complete projects or assignments, along with operating a computer utilizing a variety of business software.
Ability to multi-task and focus on day-to-day details. Skills in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel are a plus.
