Gry Sindig of the Norway-based ScaleUp is seeking a part-time Online Business Manager to optimize ScaleUp’s processes, increase revenue, and improve customer satisfaction. She is looking for someone with leadership skills, business skills, and operations experience to ensure ScaleUp’s smooth operation and growth. Responsibilities (tasks associated with the role)
Business Strategy and Planning
- Collaborate with the business owner to define goals, develop strategies, and implement plans to achieve business objectives.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers, increase brand awareness, and drive revenue growth.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending changes to maintain a competitive edge.
Operations and Process Improvement
- Analyze business operations to identify areas for improvement, recommend solutions, and implement changes to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Develop and manage project plans and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Track and manage the company’s moving parts, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
Team and Project Management
- Manage team members to successfully complete job responsibilities.
- Oversee project timelines and tasks through to completion.
- Hire and onboard new team members.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) in areas such as revenue growth, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, project delivery, and brand awareness.
- Track progress against targets and implement corrective actions as necessary to stay on course.
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve business issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.
Problem Solving and Flexibility
- Proactively identify potential challenges, autonomously develop solutions, and collaborate with team members as needed.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities while keeping the team focused on overall objectives.
- Ensure the team has the resources needed to pivot and stay aligned with business goals.
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate expectations clearly to the team, providing updates as needed to ensure alignment.
- Attend the weekly team meeting on Mondays at 8:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM Central Europe Time.

Additional requirements:
- Available to work in U.S. EST time (starting no later than 8 AM EST) or Central European Time

Offer Details
This is a part-time, remote, contractor position.
Pay is $50-$60/hour.
Benefits include two weeks’ paid time off per year - one week during the summer and another over Christmas and New Year’s (in 2025 it will increase to three weeks paid time off, with two weeks during the summer and one over Christmas).
