Job Description Summary:
The Scheduler will be responsible to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements as scheduled. Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-arounds. Suggest management of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules and client relations. Utilizing Primavera (PG) software the Planner/Scheduler will also be responsible for communicating and advising the project team on corrective actions when necessary.
Salary range: $70-110k depending on experience
Responsibilities:- On an ongoing basis, complete and update detailed project schedules, including activities required for each task with durations/constraints.
- Interact with customers, managers, operation leaders, financial controller and EVM analyst.
- Perform CPI/SPI calculations using earned value principles.
- Project and update man-hour budgets using a work breakdown structure (WBS) account system: report expenditures outside the budget scope.
- Monitor and report on cost control performance; continuously update actual expenditures and forecast budget impact.
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
Education and/ or Work Experience:
- BS degree with an emphasis in Engineering or Construction Management -or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working on construction projects
- Extensive engineering and construction experience, preferably with respect to substation and transmission construction.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency with scheduling software, with a strong preference placed on Primavera, P6.
- Proven ability with creating reports by relating and extracting data from a variety of software platforms.
- Knowledge of scheduling best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members and clients varying position levels.
