Minimum Education

· Associates, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent preferred

Minimum Work Experience

· 1 year or more experience in a Hospital or Physician Practice setting

· Strong knowledge of medical terminology

Required Licenses/Certifications

· Certified Scheduling Technician preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

· Prior understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR)

· Strong knowledge of medical terminology

· Excellent communication skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to multitask, can work in a fast paced clinical environment, can engage patients, peers, and supervisors in a dedicated, comforting, respectful and effective way and has the ability to adapt to change.

· Scheduling surgeries and procedures for our Gastroenterology, Podiatry, Urology and Physiatrist departments.

· Coordinate all required testing and procedures

· Ensure all requires pre-testing, patient information and consents have been obtained and are on-site prior to patient's admission to hospital.

· Demonstrate good judgment in scheduling procedures to both meet patient needs and increase physician productivity.

· Cross trained in all scheduler recall duties

· Acting as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patient's family member in a compassionate and kind manner

· Relaying and confidentially communicating both orally and in written form any notes or questions patients may have

· Other office responsibilities, assigned by supervisor or Physician, as deemed necessary
