About the Job
Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of non-clinical activities, functions and processes of scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors, ensures, and develops related operational policies and procedures are implemented to achieve goals and objectives with The SpineCare Center Scheduling, while initiating modifications as needed to ensure suitability and effectiveness.
- Ensure proper operational controls are implemented to achieve goals and objectives within The SpineCare Center.
- Provides leadership for assigned staff and ensures efficient and effective productivity goals are achieved.
- Assists Director in developing and implementing the SpineCare Center budget, policies and procedures, and monitoring financial operations, while initiating strategic plans for growth and development.
- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
- Ensures staffing schedules are maintained with approved productivity targets
- Conducts departmental meetings to share pertinent information
- Collaborates with all members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate the patient care process
- Interviews, selects, hires, and trains SpineCare Scheduling staff
- Ensures orientation and training for employees
- Executes progressive discipline up to and including termination
- Manages front line operations related to meeting/exceeding departmental goals, 5 keys of excellence, and DCH Mission and Vision.
- Creates and maintains the Scheduling grids for the practitioners
- Assists with supervising and maintaining Faxcom, which includes outside records pertaining to patient chart, along with outside referrals
- Report directly to the SpineCare Center Director any needs or issues.
- Supervises the scheduling department which includes physicians. This also includes outside referrals to The SpineCare Center.
- Collaborates with Information Services to ensure day to day software issues are addressed.
- Has the ability to cover the scheduling department in case of vacation or illness of employees.
- Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary based on patient care needs.

- Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
- Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
- Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Must be high school graduate. B.S. degree in business preferred. Five years front office experience preferred. Sufficient management experience in the health care field preferred. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting. Possess good manual and finger dexterity. Possess good communication skills. Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
