he Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is located in the Southwestern Alaska town of Bethel, with a total of approximately 6,000 people. YKHC supports 1500 employees, providing the health services to a primarily Yup'ik Eskimo Native population for an area the size of Oregon. Services are provided through a Bethel located hospital and 50 clinics throughout the YK Delta.
Position Summary: This position’s specific duties and responsibilities are to train all new and incumbent employees in outpatient clinics such as unit clerk, case management assistant, and schedulers. These positions are medical support technician I and II. The scheduler trainer will train on a standardized and comprehensive training program to ensure accuracy of scheduling in clinics and in other departments. The incumbent must present an engaging manner and understand how to recognize when employees need supplemental training. In addition to instructing in the traditional didactic setting, the incumbent will spend time in the outpatient clinics ensuring continuity among schedulers, perform competency assessments for all employees with the scheduling keys, and provide just-in-time training for employees not following the National Scheduling Directive and local standard operating procedures

- High School or GED diploma.
- Two (2) years' experience working in a healthcare field with at least one (1) year o working in a scheduling data coordination role
- Must be able to fulfill all competencies of an Outpatient Clinic Medical Support Technician II
- Computer, Copier, Fax, multi-line phone system, and other standard office equipment
- Ability to type 45 wpm
- Ability to multi task, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Accuracy and dependability a must. Interpersonal and communication skill required interacting with medical personnel on a routine basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Yup’ik speaker preferred.
- Preferred one-year experience in a supervisory role.
- Medical terminology course of study completed & documented.
- Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
