This is a new full-time position that guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week at the appropriate bus driver salary scale. Lunch monitoring will be paid based on the bus driver salary scale as well. The position requires a morning and afternoon route in addition to providing lunch monitor assistance at least one school daily.

Lunch Monitoring will involve supervising students in the cafeteria during the school's lunch schedule.
To be certified to drive a school bus for the state of South Carolina, applicants go through a training process that includes classroom instruction and testing as well as behind-the-wheel instruction and testing. They must obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and a School Bus Certificate. After becoming a school bus driver, every driver must receive annual State Department of Education-mandated training.
The following are the eligibility requirements for employment as a District One Schools Bus Driver:
- Be a US resident at least 18 years of age and have at least 12 months of driving experience;
- Have no more than 4 points against driver’s license within the last 12 months;
- All applicants are subject to a SLED check of criminal history and any other checks required by law or deemed necessary by the employer;
- Have a valid South Carolina driver’s license;
- Successfully complete a school bus driver’s training class of 20 hours and successfully pass a physical performance test.
- All Bus Drivers are required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and will be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing.
Drivers are responsible for obtaining a Department of Transportation physical and proof of a clear tuberculosis test completed within the last 12 months. Copies of the applicant's official birth certificate, Social Security card, and driver's license are also required.
