Job Summary:

The K-12 School Counselor will provide support to students and families for social, emotional, and academic learning needs in St. Louis Park for students with learning challenges..

A Day in the Life of the K-12 School Counselor:

• Create and co-lead the student support team/MTSS.
• Meet with administration team to review referrals and interventions.
• Drive, co-lead and support implementation of tier 1 program; support teachers and offer PD and training when needed. Ensure connection with tier 2/3 interventions.
• Create singular or multiple cross-grade tier 2 groups.
• Maintain awareness of student diagnoses, develop and update plans for tier 3 students, and share with staff as needed.
• Connect with and support parents as needed, providing referrals to PSC team.
• Provide and encourage outside referrals for students as needed.
• College and Career guidance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities):

• Master's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or in school counseling program.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• MN School Counselor License or pre-license candidates in counseling program required.

Location/Environment: St. Louis Park, MN

Duration: School year Position Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $38-$48 per hour based on experience & qualifications.
