School Nurse - School House Staffing

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse to join our educational team in supporting student health and wellness. This part-time role involves providing daily healthcare to students with specific needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 Plans. With an average caseload of 35 students, you’ll have a significant impact on student well-being within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health Services: Provide daily healthcare, including diabetes and asthma care, general health assessments, and first aid as needed.
• IEP/504 Support: Administer required healthcare services for students under IEP/504 minutes, documenting and reporting to ensure effective educational support.
• Proactive Health Monitoring: Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a safe and healthy school environment, ensuring proactive communication and care.
• Student-Centered Care: Focus on preventative care and meet students' everyday health needs. Currently, no students require severe or profound health intervention.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Experience: Previous experience in school settings, knowledge of IEP and 504 processes, and a strong desire to support student health.
