Responsibilities:

• Complete duties of the school nurse, including routine screenings and maintaining school health records for an enrollment of 20-23 students.
• Advise staff on and address day-to-day medical issues, needs, and emergencies of students.
• Oversee the administration of all medication and treatments for students according to guidelines set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
• Control inventory and maintain records according to state and federal guidelines for all medications.
• Communicate effectively with the Program Director regarding student and administrative issues.
• Participate in the ordering and storage of medical supplies and medications according to program, state, and federal guidelines.
• Assist in creating medical protocols for specific student needs, including EpiPen training for staff.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Nurses.
