Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Simsbury, CT. The SLP will provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is essential in helping students achieve their academic and social goals by addressing their individual communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, addressing a range of speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
- Track and document student progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional insights to assist in educational planning.
- Ensure compliance with school district policies and state regulations regarding student care.
- Stay current with developments in the field of speech-language pathology and apply best practices.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Connecticut SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
