School SW needed for Preschool Program in Brick NJ - Invo Healthcare

INVO is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Social Worker to join our dedicated team. The Social Worker will play a crucial role in providing services to support students' emotional, social, and mental health needs, and will collaborate with families, educators, and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to student well-being. This position will involve working in a preschool setting within the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments of students’ social and emotional needs through interviews, observations, and consultations with teachers, families, and school staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring special education services.
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to ensure students have access to external resources and services, including mental health, housing, and family support services.
• Facilitate family engagement and provide education or resources to help parents and caregivers support their child’s social and emotional development.
• Lead and participate in student intervention teams, including providing recommendations for appropriate interventions and services.
• Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date records of student interactions and interventions in accordance with school district policies and state regulations.
• Collaborate with school staff to create and maintain a positive, supportive school climate that promotes student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Valid New Jersey School Social Worker Certification.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey (preferred).
• Experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of child development, mental health interventions, and trauma-informed care practices.
• Familiarity with special education laws and processes, including IEP development and compliance.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with various social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
