Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day environmental compliance for the assigned facilities and operations. In addition, this person will support and work closely with Operations to assure consistency of implementation of environmental procedures. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Identify and investigate improvement opportunities. • Be the "customer service" link to operations. • Implement corporate EHS&T directives. • Communicate internal best practices as applicable to assigned facilities/operations personnel. • Provide input to the EHS&T staff to improve procedures and practices as necessary. • Implement waste minimization strategies. • Respond to emergencies/spills and assist in waste management. • Manage environmental contractors as required. • Identify and document WMUs and Generation Points. Ensure WMUs are registered with TCEQ. • Identify areas of noncompliance and report them to FEM, and plant/Lab management as needed. • Assist Internal Lab, Ops, Maintenance, and PMs with waste bids and approve disposal locations • Work with Internal Lab, Ops, Maintenance, and PMs to develop sampling strategies for wastes and communicate sample plan to waste brokers/vendors • Provide support to Operations and Maintenance regarding appropriate discharge locations for vacuum trucks transporting liquids throughout MBC/Hatcherville • Interpret and explain analytical reports and disposal costs to Lab, Ops, Maintenance and PMs as necessary • Ensure Lab wastes are packed, stored, and disposed of properly • Coordinate and review TSDF inspections as necessary • Develop waste procedures as necessary • Coordinate development of RCRA Contingency Plans, P2 Plans, and ensure that the plans are reviewed, revised, and submitted as required • Coordinate Annual P2 Progress Reports and ensure they are submitted as required • Assist TAR team with waste planning (including sample plans) and monitor waste broker to ensure proper tracking of wastes • Notify Operations and FEM of wastes that are approaching 90 day storage limit • Review labeling practices in the field, prospective storage of waste by operations and waste database management. • Submit Annual Waste Summaries and ensure proper recordkeeping of profiles, BOLs, and manifests for multiple locations • Provide support to Field Waste Coordinator and ensure that weekly WMU inspection reports are conductedThe successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field is required.
• 10 or more years of experience in the petrochemical, refining, and/or oil and gas industry complying with RCRA and DOT regulations is required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communication with individuals at all levels both internally and externally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize and organize daily.
• Physically able to walk across terrain to get to assigned sites.
• Possess the ability to work independently and self-manage their work and schedules.
• Identify regulatory requirements and make applicability determines of regulations that apply to their work area.
