Job Description:
**100% ONSITE (open to candidates willing to relocate at their own expense)**
- We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Scientist II to join the Immunology and Inflammation Therapeutic Area (I&I TA) located in Cambridge, MA.
- Focusing on developing next generation drugs for the treatment of type 2 inflammatory diseases such as atopic dermatitis and asthma, this candidate will contribute to efforts of developing drug candidates toward clinical development.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for generating preclinical data to support development of various compounds, via the execution of preclinical in vitro and supporting in vivo studies, to screen, profile and strengthen our mechanistic biological understanding of drug molecules.
- The position requires an ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment, as well as excellent technical/written/oral communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be curious in exploring new paths for scientific discoveries and bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas.
- A strong working knowledge and demonstrated track record in Immunology is highly preferred.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong laboratory experience and technical expertise in in vitro cellular immunology (including ELISA, MSD, Co-IP, assay development, tissue culture, flow cytometry, primary immune cell assays, cell fractionation) and ex vivo tissue processing and analysis.
- Direct experience in imaging using confocal microscopy is a plus.
- Responsibilities:
- Work within the project team to design, execute, troubleshoot, analyze and document in vitro and in vivo experiments to drive research data package generation to support IND-filing.
- Serve as an integral project team member, who is expected to communicate data updates and recommendations within project teams and I&I Therapeutic Area.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of laboratory conduct, safety, and appropriate handling of materials
- Proficiency with electronic notebooks.
- Report writing to support patent and IND filings.
Qualifications:
- MS (2+ years of relevant experience) or PhD (some relevant industry experience)
- Biotech/pharma industry (using relevant skills)
- Bioreactor set-up and operation (hands-on)
- Mammalian cell culture
- Therapeutic molecule production - experience with enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, viral vectors, vaccines, and/or cell therapy
- Knowledge of upstream process development (batch/fed-batch/perfusion cultures)
- Experience with sensor technologies (spectroscopy / electrochemical / chromatographic)
- PAT applications nice to have (process analytical technologies)
Compensation: $40-59 per hour depending on experience
