About the Job
SCS is looking for a Summer 2025 Intern for the Madison, Wisconsin office. SCS’ goal is to provide a student Intern with valuable technical and environmental business experience through our diverse range of projects for the clients we serve. In addition, we believe this opportunity provides you the ability to explore the beginnings of your own career path. You will work with us on various aspects of site inspections and site history review, geographic information systems (GIS), soil and groundwater investigation/remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and other projects. You will typically work 40 hours per week. The paid Internship will start in May/June 2025 and end in August/September 2025. Exact start and end dates will be determined to fit with your school schedule.
How you can make an impact:You will contribute to our projects by assisting SCS project teams with the following tasks:
- Soil, groundwater, and vapor investigation/remediation sampling
- Phase I Environmental Site Inspections
- GIS Projects
- Laboratory data management and review
- Reporting and calculation preparation
- Design assistance
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, soil science, environmental science, environmental or geological engineering and graduating by June 2027 required. Candidates going into senior year are preferred.
- Must be willing to live in the Madison area for Summer 2025 (housing will not be provided).
- ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Great attention to detail and solid judgment.
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.
