Job Description:
This experienced senior engineer will work within an Integrated Product Team responsible for the development of specialized signal processing systems for a diverse customer base. This team, comprised of engineers from many disciplines, works closely with customers to gain insight into real-world needs, priorities and obtains operational feedback to provide the best system solutions for our users. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical expertise requiring both systems and software engineering skills to achieve solutions for various projects/programs. This position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills.
Essential Functions:
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.
- Tasking could include system requirements, design, development, integration/test, field deployment and operator training.
- Create and maintain strong working relationships within the company and with onsite and offsite customers.
- Perform Systems Engineering and/or Software Engineering tasks as needed for each program.
- Respond to customer inquiries providing troubleshooting and analysis of complex problems.
- Collaborate with customers and team members to develop system requirements.
- Prepare hardware and software estimates for customer requested capabilities.
- Design system and specify hardware to meet customer’s needs.
- Guide strategic architectural and hardware decisions.
- Prepare customer briefings and documentation.
- Provide leadership for programs and products.
- Research new software concepts.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Travel CONUS/OCONUS 10-20%.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Must be a self-starter who is comfortable determining program needs and executing them with minimal direction.
- 10 years of Systems Engineering experience.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of RF concepts related to RF Signal Distribution, Pre-Amps, Receiver/Tuners.
- Virtualization as well as containerization technologies like Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Software architectural expertise (e.g., service-oriented architectures & micro-services).
- Data communications experience with modern protocols and formats.
- Rocky/Red Hat Linux Image Customization & Kickstart Scripting.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and rapidly prototype.
- Experience with parallel and multi-threaded programming.
- Good working knowledge of the Linux Operating System.
- Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities.
- Project, Build, Package Management experience.
- Basic understanding of Digital Signal Processing.
- Strong Java and/or C/C++ programming skills.
- Experience with databases and SQL.
- Software Defined Radio experience.
- Network socket programming.
- Shell scripting experience.
- CI polygraph (or willingness to take one).
