Client Overview:

Our client is a renowned global developer of quality health products that benefit consumers around the world. They are looking to add a Scientist – Formulation and Product Development to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k – $90k

Position Overview:

The Market and quality-driven R&D group seeks a dedicated Scientist – Formulation and Product Development to help spearhead innovation projects on new product development for the health-conscious consumer market. The successful candidate will support projects for various global regions (current and new markets) in formulation and product development initiatives from ideation to product launch.

Responsibilities of the Scientist – Formulation and Product Development:

• Design, formulate, and test new health products in various dosage forms including capsules, powders, gummies, tablets, etc.
• Research and adopt new and safe ingredients and technology in product development that help enhance the health conditions of consumers.
• Ensure thorough product and stability studies before product launch.
• Guide Production via proven scale-up success.
• Ensure biosafety and sustainability during product development process and implementation.
• Ensure accurate communication with external vendors and partners to help achieve project completion.
• Ensure proper documentation on project progress, technical transfer, ingredient, and formulation updates.
• Work closely with Marketing, Packaging, Production, Legal, QA, and Regulatory teams to ensure marketability and compliance with all safety guidelines.

Qualifications for the Scientist – Formulation and Product Development:

• Experience in GMP labs focusing on R&D, formulation, and product development/innovation on pharmaceutical, OTC health, nutraceutical, or food products.
• Experience in multiple oral dosage forms including solid, semi-solid, liquid, etc.
• Experience in ingredients research and application.
• Experience in consumer product testing, stability testing, scale-up processing, and production.
• Experience in international market product launches is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional groups.
• Experience in project management, database management, and excellent reporting skills.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, or related disciplines is required.
• An Advanced degree is preferred.
