What You’ll Do
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of multiple fast-paced projects with distributed teams, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Vision and Standards: Design and maintain the project vision, working standards, and agreements to align with organizational goals.
- Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project roadmaps, release plans, resource allocations, funding requests, communication plans, risk and issue management plans, test plans, and defect management plans.
- Agile Implementation: Implement Agile methodologies using tools like Rally and Planview, facilitating all Agile meetings including Discovery Sessions, Iteration Planning, Demos, Retrospectives, and Daily Stand-ups.
- Proactive Tracking: Track, update, and communicate project status proactively, focusing on progress, budget, resource utilization, change requests, issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with stakeholders at all management levels to ensure project priorities align with business needs and expectations.
- Documentation and Deliverables: Ensure clear definition and delivery of project documentation and deliverables.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach Agile teams to adopt and successfully use Agile practices.
- Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between business units and third-party vendors.
- Business Analysis: Utilize business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting complex requirements, scoping, interviewing, facilitation, system component design, testing, and implementation.
All You’ll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of progressive, broad-based information systems and business experience.
- Project Management: 3 years of experience managing and delivering mission-critical, high-availability IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
- Agile Expertise: 3 years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development.
- Extensive Experience: 5 years of progressive, broad-based information systems and business experience.
- Project Leadership: 5 years of experience managing and delivering mission-critical, high-availability IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies, such as Agile/Scrum.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the airline industry is a plus.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Certifications: Certified ScrumMaster or PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus.
- Leadership and Coaching: Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring teams while leveraging Agile methodologies, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and developing self-organizing teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with various computing platforms, such as mainframe, client/server, web, cloud, and social media.
- Agile Tools: Proficiency in tools like Team Foundation Server (TFS), Rally, Planview, VersionOne, or similar Agile lifecycle management tools.
- DevOps Knowledge: Experience with DevOps toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Analytical Skills: Strong skills in analytics, estimating, and problem-solving.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop tactical methods to achieve objectives and goals.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, customers, and external groups, working collaboratively with geographically dispersed resources.
