About the Job
What you will do:
- Coach and train agile teams to drive progress and maintain team accountability
- Guide agile teams of business analysts, developers, and testers to plan deliverables for each sprint
- Create Product Backlog Items based on discovered requirements and/or defects
- Provide expertise in identifying iterative process improvements and methods to streamline adoption of the Agile methodology
- Lead the team in backlog grooming and requirements gathering in support of Program Increment (PI) planning sessions
- Understand and communicate blockers and risks to ensure successful delivery of prioritized work
- Assist team members with estimating their capacity and aligning sprint goals based on that capacity
- Support artifact creation and maintenance, to include Sprint Planning Materials, Release Burn Down Charts, Sprint Burn Down Charts and Defect Log
- Facilitate the solicitation of input and feedback from the scrum team and business customers after each Sprint
- Take initiative and act as a leader to foster collaboration, communication, and transparency between team members on technical issues, process improvements, and project risks and issues
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree
- At least seven (7) years of related experience working in an Agile environment
- Demonstrated experience in iterative software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and participating in or leading PI Planning sessions
- Leading Scrum events and developing Sprints, Product Backlogs, Burn Down Charts, and/or developing User Stories
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle for implementing Enterprise level systems
- Understanding of the role of software development tools and processes such as version control, defect and issue trackers, build processes, team collaboration tools
- Experience working with dispersed teams, and using online communication tools such as Webex and Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools (Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
- Proven ability to work on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
- Experience working with many development teams to include matrixed teams (varied personalities and communication styles)
- Experience managing deployment processes
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master Certification, or Certified Scrum Professional
- 7-10 years serving in a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst, and/or Scrum Master role
- Experience in Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development frameworks

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
