The Search Specialist will be part of the team overseeing our Organic Search (SEO), Paid Search, and Shopping efforts. The successful candidate will determine how information on our web site and within Search Engine tools can affect Natural Search Rankings. They will also be able to effectively drive the strategy of Paid Search campaigns and understand key foundational aspects of performance marketing. This position also requires analysis of the sales and traffic data to determine the best course of action to continue growth. Strong knowledge of Home Appliances and Furniture categories a plus. Degree in Marketing or related field preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to-day planning, execution, and analysis of organic search and paid search and programs
- Work closely with agencies daily
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams on various digital marketing projects and on-site projects for our ecommerce website
- Manage a schedule that supports both regional and seasonal marketing initiatives through paid search and other digital marketing avenues
- Edit meta tags and alt tags using product knowledge for maximum exposure within Natural Search Listings.
- Monitor the SEM and SEO traffic segments and analyze the mix of results in the SERP towards business goals
- Utilize onsite search and natural search referral results to help drive keyword buys
- Monitor other website behaviors to determine marketing strategies based on visitor behavior.
- Helps monitor and edit content on AmericanFreight.com for grammar, spelling, link structure, brand representation, etc.
- Performs all other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Sr. Performance Marketing Manager and DVP
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (the right candidate must possess the following characteristics):
- Strong analytical skills: must have working knowledge of commonly used digital marketing metrics and the ability to draw insights from them.
- Verbal and Written communication: ability to communicate effectively and tell stories with/from data that are understandable to technical and non-technical teams
- Fast learner: Ability to quickly identify and close gaps in knowledge
- Strong time-management skills
- Self-driven: knows how to prioritize and can focus on projects and tasks that are most impactful
- Collaborative: ability to work with individuals and teams across multiple functions and with all levels of management
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of related experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with digital marketing agencies
- Retail or ecommerce experience strongly preferred
- Experience with digital marketing and ecommerce tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Yext, Google Merchant Center, Microsoft Ad Center
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, American Freight provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and cultural fit. The range of starting pay for this role is $50,000 to $70,000 per year.
