Stellar Virtual does not currently provide all employees or contractors with the necessary equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) required for employment. Depending on your position, you may be assigned a company-issued device to use throughout your tenure of employment.

Position Overview

As a Secondary Teacher in Mathematics for Stellar Virtual, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an enriching and comprehensive education to secondary students across Texas. You will collaborate with our team of educators, utilize state-of-the-art virtual teaching tools, and engage with students to create a dynamic and effective learning experience. Our teachers use cutting-edge technology, combined with outstanding experience in the education industry, to deliver high-quality learning opportunities to students.

This position is for the current school year, 2024-2025. Future hiring efforts for 2025-2026 will be posted separately when those roles are available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver dynamic and interactive virtual lessons that align with the Mathematics curriculum for secondary students.

• Create engaging instructional materials, such as multimedia presentations, videos, and online activities, to facilitate meaningful learning experiences.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated, supported, and encouraged to participate actively.

• Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding of concepts in Mathematics.

• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and provide timely and constructive feedback.

• Collaborate with the Assessment Services team to support in-person seasonal testing procedures with students across various locations in Indiana (required for all teachers). 

• Monitor and track student performance, identify areas of improvement, and develop individualized learning plans when necessary.

• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administrators to address any concerns or challenges and maintain open lines of communication.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and align instructional units, assessments, and interdisciplinary projects.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends, resources, and best practices in various subjects in elective education and incorporate them into instruction.

• Create an online classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students;

• Manage behavior under the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook;

• Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members;

• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers;

• Attend and participate in faculty meetings, peer learning communities, and committees as required by your direct supervisor. 

• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience in virtual teaching or online education is a plus.

• Proficient in using virtual teaching platforms and technology tools.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Dedication to student success and a passion for teaching.

• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

• Student teaching approved internship or related work experience;

• Experience using a student information system and/or another type of database;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;

• Proven proficiency in Zoom, Google Workspace, PEIMS, LMS, Microsoft Office

Education & Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

• Valid Texas teaching certification for the subject area and grade level.
