About the Job
We are seeking a Section 508 Compliance Tester to join our team supporting an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
* Position is contingent on contract award.
Location of work is primarily remote. Candidates must be near IRS Federal Buildings in Farmers Branch, TX, Washington DC or Lanham, MD to attend meetings when needed.
- Ensure 508 compliance with automation testing requirements, to ensure all automations meet a baseline standard set by the organization.
- Ensure 508 compliance for all code and documentation to meet the IRS' audit artifacts requirements.
- Ensure testing activities are planned, executed, and reported in adherence to IRS Section 508 testing standards and policies.
- Support analysis of requirements to identify acceptance test criteria.
- Analyze application design, interface, and database design documentation to identify key use cases for Section 508 testing focus.
- Design and execute comprehensive accessibility web testing by using a broad range of tools, including but not limited to Web accessibility tool bar (WAT), Axe, FireEyes, JAWS, NVDA, WAVE, ZoomText, WindowEyes, Dragon Naturally Speaking,
- Create accessible documents using standard software such as Adobe Professional, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel.
- Prepare, test, and analyze documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements.
- Log and monitor defects using defect tracking and reporting tool such as Rational Team Concert or Jira.
- Develop summary matrix of test results
- Submit and track defects and issues to closure with the system owner.
- Ensure all test activities are defined and updated as needed in project schedules
- Prepare and maintain deliverables including test plans, test cases, project test progress reports and test schedules.
- Stay current on Section 508 policy and federal agency accessibility checklists.
- Participate in Agile scrum team activities including daily standup, release planning, sprint planning and end of sprint ceremonies.
- Contribute in a meaningful way to customer goals and initiatives to increase quality and efficiency of test processes.
- Support developing and updating project schedules to allow tracking of project activities.
- Support documenting testing strategies and results within the assigned project(s).
- Document specifications for extremely complex computer network security/protection technologies for IRS information and network systems/applications.
- Work alone and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stakeholders dispersed across geographical sites.
- Provide status reports, attend meetings and take/distribute minutes.
Project Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree.
- At least ten (10) years of testing experience required.
- At least five (5) years of experience with hands on 508 testing of web applications.
- At least two (2) years of demonstrable experience within federal projects.
- Experience using one or more of the following: JAWS, Dragon.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Agile principles and methods.
- Experience with reviewing, analyzing, and coordinating project documentation.
- Experience with reviewing/analyzing requirements.
- Proven ability to work on and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stakeholders dispersed across geographical sites.
- Preferred qualifications and experience include: 508 training certifications; experience with ServiceNow.; experience with IRS projects and knowledge of IRMs.
Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain a Federal Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform systems analysis, documenting and executing testing, and defect tracking.
- Coordinate with IPT members to execute and document test activities.
- Provide direction, guidance and mentoring to other project testing team members.
- Lead and coordinate meetings with the team and client.
- Help in establishing and standardizing project processes, develop uniformity and consistency across testing teams.
- Participate in proposal writing.
