GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Hourly
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Provides campus security during school hours and after school activities.
MAJOR TASKS:
- Continually patrols CSHS to ensure total campus security.
- Directs campus visitors to check in at the main office for Visitor Pass.
- Monitors student and faculty parking lot.
- Monitors student activity on campus during the school day; asks for passes and eliminates loitering.
- Monitors campus and reports inappropriate behavior, graffiti, safety issues, vandalism, etc., to assistant principal.
- Inspects all CSHS locks and doors to confirm security.
- Monitors restrooms; remove loiterers.
- Patrols locker room when teacher is unavailable and reports to assistant principal.
- Assists with sporting events and game set up, could include evenings and weekends.
- Assists with campus cleanup by picking up litter while monitoring campus.
- Maintains appropriate adult supervisory relationships with students at all times.
- Prepares student referrals for misbehavior.
- Documents all activities and incidents in a detailed daily activity report.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Wears appropriate security attire.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the school administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education
- Caring human relations skills; good written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be able to work split shifts and extra duty events as required.
- Neat appearance and good physical condition – must be on feet for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their detection and effects.
- Ability to learn and maintain respect of student body.
- Knowledge of school and District policy in reference to student conduct and discipline code.
- Excellent self-judgment and observation skills
