About the Job
The Harris For President Campaign is seeking a Security Detection & Response Engineer to focus on designing, building, and fine-tuning systems and processes to detect malicious activities or unauthorized behaviors. The Security Detection & Response Engineer will work on the Security Team, which is responsible for ensuring consistent evaluation and improvement of our cybersecurity posture across the organization and broader ecosystem. More broadly, the IT & Security department is responsible for standing up and maintaining a robust technology infrastructure while safeguarding our valuable information assets. We are looking for candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with IT & Security teams to improve campaign's capabilities to effectively detect and respond to security incidents
- Review security architecture of systems and independently propose logging, detection and prevention controls to create a unified, automated system
- Perform TTP-based Threat Modeling for a wide variety of assets including endpoints, mobile, servers, 3rd party services, cloud environments and networking equipment
- Perform analysis against logs from a variety of sources to identify potential threats and detection ideas. Improve security relevant logging pipelines.
- Build response workflows and actions that auto-resolve false positives and provide context scaling our ability to investigate
- Support security incident response in a cross-functional environment and drive incident resolution for internal and external threats
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience analyzing SaaS, network and host-based security events
- Knowledge of networking technologies, specifically TCP/IP and the related protocols
- Knowledge of operating systems and file systems on Windows, MacOS and Linux
- Coding/scripting experience in one or more general purpose languages
- Experience with attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-oriented and patient
