Pay rate - $22.50 an hour

Shift(s): Variable/Floater*

*A floater position is a role where someone fills in for another person who is away from their job, such as due to vacation, training, or leave of absence. Their responsibilities include temporarily covering a position and picking up shifts as needed. Floaters would be able to convert into a set schedule once it is available. Floaters would be able to attain variable hours in a week, not guaranteed, between 8-30 hours.

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile healthcare customer. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Foot patrol will include stairs, indoors and outdoors. This will require walking / standing for the majority of the shift
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• Patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, patients and hospital staff
• Participate in patient holds for behavior health patients

Minimum Requirements:

• Be able to be fully clean shaven (if applicable)
• Be free of visible tattoos on areas of the body that are not covered by standard work attire; tattoos on the face, neck, hands, or any visible body part must be absent or easily concealable.
• Be free of visible piercings, including facial piercings, during work hours; piercings that can be easily removed are acceptable.
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods, as the nature of the job may involve continuous periods of standing and walking.
• Be proficient in using various technologies, including computers, tablets, laptops, and cell phones.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
  
• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen and medical screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required, with a clean driving record
• Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
