Security Guard @ SAP Center and Tech CU Arena in San Jose - San Jose Arena Management

Role/Responsibilities:

• Provide employees, guests, contractors, vendors and visitors a secure, safe, friendly and predictable environment in which to work and enjoy SAP Center events.
• As a department, is responsible for the physical security of the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Tasks include monitoring video surveillance, guarding against unauthorized entry and activities, controlling building access, patrolling, identifying and correcting safety/ security issues, interacting with San Jose emergency services, maintaining various registers/security logs and professionally representing SAP Center to the public.

Hours:

All scheduling is performance based with eight-hour shifts as well as event driven lesser hour shifts available.

Scheduling:

• Mid shift is midnight until 8:00 a.m.
• Day shift is 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
• Swing shift is 4:00 p.m. until midnight.
• Flexible positions within those shifts are available.
• Part-time event driven hours are assigned dependent upon the required coverage of the event.

Uniform:

You will be required to wear the uniform provided by SAP Center.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older and have no felony convictions.
• Must be able to read, understand, speak and legibly write fluent English.
• Must be able to walk extensively, stand in one place for 2 to 4 hours, climb stairs, stoop, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation to work at any hour.
• Enjoy working with others and take a proactive role in the security/safety of SAP Center.

Wage:

$12.08 per hour; $12.81 after working 260 hours.

You will be asked to join a union and pay 2.3% of hours worked per shift.
