About the Job
ADESA is looking for a Security Lead to join our Team!
Reporting to the General Manager or designated manager, secure all gates, checking all incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper authority to enter or exit. Ensure all personnel entering the facility have proper authority and to secure and monitor entire auction facility after business hours in accordance with corporate and security guidelines policies and procedures. Perform all duties assigned by the General Manager or designated manager. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at all times.
- Monday thru Friday 2:45pm to 11:15pm Pay is $21.00
Security Guard – Specific Responsibilities and Skills include but are not limited to the following:
- Inspect the fence line for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks
- Insure the offices, auction building and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety or fire hazards.
- Watch for and report irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked.
- Secure gates at established times and patrol auction property. Check for unlocked doors. Maintain radio contact with the main gate.
- Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles and apprehend or expel miscreants.
- Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, schedules and accounting from the General Manager or designated manager or other corporate sources. Maintain a good flow of communication with other auction personnel.
- Recommend new customer services and procedures to the General Manager or designated manager.
- Monitor and control all facility conditions, vehicles, property and equipment within corporate standards for security and safety purposes.
- Advise General Manager or designated manager and Maintenance of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately. Ensure good routine preventative maintenance.
- Make sure that area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Lot Manager immediately. Practice proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
- Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety or security information.
- Maintain a current list of emergency and Management phone numbers.
Security Lead – Specific Responsibilities and Skills: in addition to above Security Guard responsibilities and skills:
- Receive and review reports of all activity:
- Filing of Daily Activity Reports (DAR)
- Special Reports (SR)
- Lost and Found Reports (LFR)
- Security Incident Reports (SIR)
- Manage time sheets, scheduling of shifts for employees and all related documents.
- Conduct training for new employees.
- Attend weekly auction site meetings.
- Understand all auction procedures and roles – build and maintain relationships with every department within the auction and know their role and purpose.
- Resolve conflicts and concerns with employees and/or customers.
- Monitor/Manage cameras and observe footage.
- Review all worker’s compensation and incident reports.
- Must be able to communicate to customers in a clear and professional manner regarding regulations, prohibitions, and policies of the company.
- Help customers location their vehicles on the property.
- Answer phone calls: directions to auction, location of vehicles, vehicle information, etc.
- Receive vehicles for auction: mark to correct account/customer and guide to proper check in lanes.
- Release vehicles: ensure correct gate release matches vehicle by verifying the vehicle identification number (VIN), stock number and is authorized to leave the property.
- Inspect vehicles leaving the property to deter theft.
- Respond to CCTV (Control Center TV) calls and check reported area and file reports of each call.
Qualifications:
Security Guard
- Prefer High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of security experience preferred.
- Must have ability to work various shifts, weekends and/or nights.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle (automatic and standard).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills required.
Security Lead
- A minimum of one (1) to (3) years of customer service experience preferred.
- Strong computer ability with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgement and discretion to analyze and address opportunities.
- Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong multitasking skills along with the ability to adapt to changing work environments.
- Must have qualifications in Security Guard.
- Must be able to perform all Security Guard responsibilities and skills.
