About the Job
Craft cocktails & creative small plates in a swanky rooftop bar at the Thompson Nashville hotel.
Security will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the flow of guests from the lobby to the rooftop bar, LA Jackson. We are seeking an individual that will align with our mission of hospitality while having a controlling presence that will deter problems and diffuse any guest tensions. The Doorman will work directly with our lobby hosts and managers to keep the flow of business at an optimum level. The Doorman must be a good communicator, patient, and able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
Job Duties
• Inspect various sections of the establishment, from the bathrooms to the bar itself, to ensure safety.
• Patrols the bar from time to time to look for any threats to the bar's security, identifies rowdy patrons and ejects them from the establishment if they are a nuisance to other patrons and monitors the bar occupancy to ensure it doesn't exceed maximum capacity.
• Inspects the identification of patrons to prevent underage individuals from entering, monitors entrances and exits and ensures that individuals who have been barred do not get into the establishment.
• Resolves conflicts and restrains anyone who gets into a fight, takes care of patrons' welfare (for instance, by summoning taxis for them on request) and, where warranted, frisks patrons to ensure they do not get into the bar with weapons or illegal items.
• When necessary, write up reports of incidents at the bar for record-keeping purposes.
Skills and Qualifications
• Able to work long hours, specifically at night
• Prepared for the occasional physical confrontation, so a bar security guard is required to be physically fit.
• As the establishment's first point of contact with patrons, Security should be presentable and courteous.
• The security guard is also expected to be always mentally alert to quickly spot any disturbance on the premises.
Required: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Must uphold company standards relating to security and behavior.
