Overview:POSITION SUMMARY: Graveyard/Night shift. Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
1. Patrols attendant donation sites, industrial site and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensures security of doors, windows, and gates.
2. Responds to alarm incidents and investigates disturbances.
3. Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
4. Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
5. Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
6. Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
7. Answers telephone calls to take messages, answers questions, and provides information during non- business hours or when switchboard is closed.
8. Checks all vehicles and donation center doors, lift gates and roll-up doors to determine they are locked and secured.
9. Notifies management immediately if any illegal activity is conducted during business hours.
10. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property to management immediately.
11.Promotes safety in the workplace at all times. Enforces all safety rules and regulations.
12. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
13. Collects all donations that have been donated after hours. Transports items to assigned hub location. Enters all recoveries on Safety and Asset Protection recovery log.
14. Maintains and updates patrol log daily, uploads photos of items to the patrol log Data Base.
15. Monitors DC areas for illegal dumping, once illegal dumping is detected the Transportation Department must be contacted for cleanup and or pickup.
16. Cover graveyard shift at the Rosecrans location as needed.
Qualifications:SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Experience: 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, e-mail and internet preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Guard Card issued by State of California and Valid Driver’s License. Proof of Insurance and Driving record Acceptable by Goodwill’s Insurance Company.
Schedule: Shift is 11:00 pm - 7:30 am, 5 days per week, which may include weekends.
Amount of Travel Required: 50% to 75%
