Position Overview:
Works within an established framework to investigate allegations, and prevent and solve crimes to safeguard people, property, assets, and interests. Develops work plans and conduct administrative, civil, and criminal investigations involving, but not limited to, fraud, theft, misappropriation, personal and property crimes, and workplace violence. Performs research activities, investigate leads, conduct interviews, and compose professionally-written reports that clearly communicate investigative findings. Analyzes data, control evidence, prepare documentation, and may make recommendations to justice system authorities.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
INVESTIGATIONS & INVESTIGATIVE RESEARCH:
• Investigates administrative, civil, and criminal incidents or allegations affecting enterprise lines of business within the Department of Protective Services portfolio; analyzes incident reports and develops action plans for investigative activity and process improvement.
• Interviews witnesses or subjects, analyzes crime scenes to obtain clues, reconstructs crimes and events, collects documents and evidence that further investigative goals and prepares and files detailed investigative reports.
• Serves as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement officials.
• Effectively uses commercially available research databases to develop relevant background information; interacts with proprietary databases to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement relevant courses of action.
• Researches social media and other relevant information technology platforms to identify threats and develop leads in furtherance of investigative goals and threat mitigation efforts.
PERSONAL SECURITY:
• Provides personal protection for senior executives on an event-oriented basis, assembles personnel security risk assessment packages.
• Advances and conducts risk assessments for locations prior to senior-level executive meetings.
• Creates detailed risk assessments for senior-level executives traveling domestically or abroad.
• Coordinates ground transportation logistics for senior-level executives on an event-oriented basis.
• Organizes security and leads teams at special events.
RISK MITIGATION:
• Performs after-action reviews and root cause analysis.
• Provides best practices security training to affiliates and enterprise lines of business.
• Leads, designs, or participates in exercises to enhance security response to events affecting enterprise lines of business.
• Leads, designs, or participates in red team penetration exercises to identify and remedy security vulnerabilities.
SUPPORT PROTECTIVE SERVICES INITIATIVES:
• Contributes to compliance with federal and state security and risk regulations including Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA; other state laws related to workplace violence prevention and healthcare security; and the organization's protective services-related policies and procedures.
• Represents the Department of Protective Services on multi-disciplinary work groups, to include Risk/Environment of Care; Privacy/Info Security; Information Systems; Audit; Compliance, et al.
• Identifies healthcare-specific risk exposures and mitigating strategies, to include (but not limited to) home healthcare, pharmacy operations, emergency department operations, and research.
• Works effectively in a consensus-driven organization, while not compromising security objectives.
• Monitors tracking and quality control tools.
• Identifies opportunities to leverage economies of scale, reduce duplication, and makes recommendations to better allocate resources in alignment with risks.
EDUCATION:
HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer within 30 days of start date
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated ability to document investigative results and corrective action plans that are easily understandable to auditors, regulators, and others, as appropriate.
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow through, meet deadlines, anticipate requirements, and build relationships with minimal oversight.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and employ reasoning skills.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated comfort level w/ internal systems or demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
Demonstrated past experience working with C-suite-level executives.
PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Must present as approachable, open, professional, and positive.
Must be willing to travel on short notice and during non-standard working hours.
