Barbier Security Group (BSG) is a rapidly growing Bay Area based security services company. Founded in 2007 Barbier Security Group has been tasked with providing custom protective security programs for individuals, government organizations and private companies.
BSG is currently seeking qualified Security Officersfor our Incident Response Team at a prestigious private University in Oakland. Security Officers on the Incident Response Team play a critical role in maintaining a secure campus environment. The ideal candidate will be equipped with specialized skills in de-escalation and crisis management, ensuring the safety and well-being of our university community. This position requires a strong commitment to proactive security measures, effective communication, and rapid response to incidents. The Incident Response Team is staffed twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Incident Response Team is directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities. The team must maintain an expert level of knowledge of the campus rules and always provide professional interactions that promote safety to, and confidence from, the people that encompass the property.
- Shifts: Full-Time Morning (Wednesday - Sunday) Full Time -Grave (Tuesday - Saturday)
- Salary: $28.50 per hour

Guard Skill Set & Responsibilities:
- Respond to and manage security incidents on campus promptly and effectively.
- Utilize specialized de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and diffuse potentially volatile situations.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular patrols and monitor security cameras to identify potential security risks.
- Provide support during campus events and activities to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Enforce university policies and regulations related to security and safety.
- Display good communication and integrity skills
- Exhibit exceptional guest service skills with all individuals
- Effectively control access to the property of authorized and non-authorized persons at vehicle entry points with Ambassador level communication and fluently understands the access levels/restrictions of all campus parking areas
- Demonstrate Safety as a primary focus
- Monitor and log CCTV cameras for unusual and/or suspicious activity
- Utilize specialized training and methodologies, to identify potential indicators of unusual and suspicious conduct
- Completes key service requests and task work orders for all identified maintenance needs
- Maintain situational awareness acting as a deterrent to undesirable behaviors and actions at all times
- Promote the value of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all interactions
- Respond to critical incidents on and around campus to include: emergencies, evacuations, company policy violations, while working with law enforcement
- Provide escorts to/from buildings and vehicles throughout campus
- Perform bag checks and other inspections to verify no unauthorized items enter or leave property
- Displays professional uniformed appearance and maintains a work area with the same high regard for the reputation of the University
- Engage with students, faculty and visitors with an inspiring level of guest service that is knowledgeable of the campus and its amenities.
- Communicates with University staff effectively to ensure campus objectives are met
- Performs inspections of buildings/audits/fire watch/reporting all issues with facilities. Address cleanliness issues immediately to ensure a consistently immaculate atmosphere.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid California Guard Card
- Current driver's license
- 3 years of driving experience while maintaining a clean driving record
- You must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for this role
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including typing skills and the ability to navigate through multiple computer systems
- Knowledge of CCTV equipment, access controls, alarm monitoring, and computer databases
- Bilingual preferred
- Previous Security, Law Enforcement, Military or related Public Safety experience
- Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton certification required
- Previous security responsibilities for a multi-site campus facility (either corporate or college setting) preferred
- Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays preferred.
- Previous SOC operations and dispatching experience preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for majority of shift on various surfaces (concrete, carpet, etc.)
- Ability to move 50lbs
Barbier Security Group operates this site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
