The ideal candidate for the security officers role will have -
Possession of a BSIS Guard Card.
Relevant security officer skills.
Possession of high school diploma or equivalent.
The ability to stand and/or walk for an 8-hour shift.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
No restrictions on climbing and descending stairs.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Experience patrolling property as a security officer or security guard.
Ability to spot suspicious behavior.
Ability to work mandatory overtime when requested; occasionally, once or twice a week.
Knowledgeable in operating a smart phone.

Monitoring surveillance equipment and security systems.
Patrolling and monitoring client site premises.
Reporting irregularities.
Reporting suspicious behavior and suspicious activity.
Monitoring access points.
Deterring security breaches.
Maintaining security equipment.
Complete preventive maintenance requirements.
Deterring criminal activities.
Fire prevention.
Recording observations in writing.
Monitoring building and equipment controls.
Security officer responsibilities can vary depending on the site assigned to.
This is a very busy position, and it's perfect for security officers who don't want to sit at a desk or stand at a door.
A good first impression starts with the appearance of someone who is well-groomed and professional at all times, on time, with a positive attitude and outlook.
Qualified candidates must also be able to take instruction from others and carry out supervisory directives as well as be effective communicators. Security is a team effort.
