Job Summary / Purpose
The Security Officer contributes to the CHI mission and vision by assuring a safe and secure environment of care at hospital campuses and associated facilities and operations
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Conducts Initial investigations and appropriate followup for security incidents and writes a security report documenting all findings
- Conducts proactive foot and vehicle patrols of the entire campus to include all floors and buildings.
- Responds to all radio calls for a variety of services to include but not limited to: escorts, property pick-up, disturbances, standby’s and emergency calls.
- Ability to deescalate and maintain control in security situations
- Stays current on all required training to include De-escalation Training and required computer competencies.
- Receives mandatory health screenings and vaccines.
- Consistently monitors CCTV activities in the security control room when required..
- Is able to run access control system to include giving clearances and locking of doors.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with team members visitors and patients. Follows department dress code.
- Offers assistance and provide direction to visitors, patients, and staff as needed.
- Communicate with incoming shift regarding unsolved situations or assignments.Dissimulate information accurately and distribute to appropriate recipients.
- Uses tact, courtesy, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, physicians, team members and other employees.

Required Education (for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Supervisor through President) |
