SUMMARY
BSPS a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Security and Transnational Affairs Analyst for SCA Staff Support Services, Office of Security and Transnational, Affairs (SCA/STA). Washington, DC 20520. The Analyst for Security and Transnational Affairs will assist in tasks related to support for the mission and portfolios of the SCA/STA Security Team, SCA/STA Transnational Affairs Team, and the SCA/STA Senior Advisor for Regional Strategy.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate SCA Bureau input to annual reports, including but not limited to the U.S. State Department Country Report on Terrorism; and International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR), and the Annual Presidential Determination of Major Drug Source and Transit Countries List.
- Attend working-level interagency meetings in support of efforts to relocate foreign terrorist fighters and their families from camps in northeastern Syria and other locations as required; provide recommendations to Security Team and Deputy Director on the basis of those meetings.
- Coordinate with SCA desks and the Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s Office of Rewards for Justice (RFJ) to ensure SCA-specific RFJ campaigns align with SCA policy priorities.
- Lead efforts to coordinate and prepare for an SCA/STA-led monthly call with SCA desks and CT Bureau representatives on regional counterterrorism issues.
- Coordinate and clear draft Briefing Checklists, Interagency/Multilateral Agenda points, written and/or spoken remarks and other products as required by the Security, Regional Strategy, and Transnational Affairs teams within SCA.
- Additionally, in close coordination with other elements of SCA, the Analyst for Security, Transnational Affairs and Regional Strategy will monitor political, economic, and security developments in South and Central Asia as required, providing timely assessments and analysis, and as needed, serve as back up for security team officers.
- Serve as backup for Leahy Vetting, completing required training and helping ensure no military assistance is provided to foreign security force units where there is credible evidence of human rights violations.
- As appropriate, and in accordance with Department guidelines regarding identifications of contractors, the incumbent will represent the office and SCA Bureau, as necessary, at meetings within the Department and in negotiations with other agencies, foreign governments, and non-governmental organizations on various issues.
- Apply internal control measures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use or misappropriation of sensitive and classified material; report instances of security violations/problems to the appropriate supervisory/ management official; and assume full responsibility for safeguarding all classified and sensitive but unclassified material and equipment in assignment area(s).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
