**Job Description:**
As a Millwright with United Trades of America, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This position requires a highly skilled professional capable of working with precision and adhering to strict safety standards. You will be responsible for assembling, disassembling, and moving machinery, ensuring all equipment is properly aligned and functioning correctly.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Machinery Installation:** Install, assemble, and align complex machinery and mechanical equipment, including conveyors, turbines, pumps, and compressors, according to technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- **Preventive Maintenance:** Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- **Troubleshooting and Repairs:** Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes, and perform necessary repairs on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
- **Precision Alignment:** Utilize advanced tools such as laser alignment devices, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure machinery is perfectly aligned and balanced.
- **Rigging and Moving Equipment:** Safely rig, lift, and transport heavy equipment using cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices. Ensure all equipment is moved and installed safely and securely.
- **Fabrication and Welding:** Perform light fabrication and welding tasks as needed to modify or repair parts and components.
- **Safety Compliance:** Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with OSHA standards.
- **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain detailed records of work performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and inventory of parts used. Provide clear and concise reports to supervisors and project managers.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Strong proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with rigging and moving heavy machinery is essential.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by the project schedule.
