Job Description: As a Plant Operator at our Dry Ice Plant, you will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment to manufacture high-quality dry ice products. This position requires a strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to upholding safety standards and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Loads and packages dry ice on a daily basis in accordance with quality standards. Knows and complies with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Must be able to constantly lift up to 40lb boxes throughout entire shift.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Able to function safely in a noisy environment with safe, but elevated, levels of CO2 Vapor present in the facility.
- Shift work required
- Provide estimates for plumbing projects and materials
- Be able to adapt and function safely in hot and cold temperatures (i.e. warm in summer, cool in winter)
- Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes). Dry ice is extremely cold, and therefore requires that gloves be worn.
Safely operate machinery and equipment involved in the production of dry ice, including pelletizers, extruders, and packaging machines.
Continuously monitor production processes to ensure optimal performance and quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and product consistency.
Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established standards. Take corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from specifications.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Coordinate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. Participate in safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness.
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely replenishment and shipment of goods.
Maintain accurate production records, including batch records, equipment logs, and quality control documents. Generate reports on production metrics and performance indicators as required.
