Overview:

Are you looking for an opportunity to work with semiconductor manufacturing equipment? We are seeking a skilled Semiconductor Equipment Support Engineer to provide exceptional customer support for onsite installations, repairs, and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment, primarily in Hillsboro, Oregon. Candidates will undergo training in Austin, Texas, Hillsboro, Oregon, or Japan for a period of 1-3 months. Please note, this position requires a full-time presence at your assigned office(s), worksite(s), or territory.

Responsibilities:

- Check and maintain equipment to ensure it meets factory standard specifications.
- Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
- Serve as the company liaison with customers for assigned projects, including installations and major component replacements.
- Perform complex repairs, maintenance, or unit replacements according to factory procedures, both independently and with a team.
- Provide technical support to customers, responding to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment downtime and ensure positive customer relations.
- Identify and report equipment errors and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and provide periodic reports.
- Conduct training for customer personnel to ensure proficiency in service and operations.
- Collaborate with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (such as technical training, military training, or technical school) plus 5 years of related experience.
- Experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is required.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system is preferred for operating and troubleshooting the system.
- Hands-on mechanical skills are required, along with experience using electronic testing tools.
- Ability to work independently on equipment as well as effectively with other engineers as a team player under challenging situations.
- Additional experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Customer support experience is an advantage.
- Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for most of the day (including wearing a full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses).
- Domestic travel may be required, and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is necessary. Compliance with company safety guidelines and policies is required.
- This position demands continuous physical effort, including standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Lifting more than 25 pounds requires additional help.
- Must be able to work at a computer terminal for extended periods and have effective communication skills. Mental alertness is essential, and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements is required.
- Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing protective clothing and potentially being exposed to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures (within OSHA standards).
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
