Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking highly qualified Seminar Instructor SME to provide professional services and support to the TRADOC Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G-2) Operational Environment (OE) and Core Functions. The Operational Environment (OE) is a composite of the conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect the employment of military forces and bear on the decisions of the unit commander. As an organic, complex system, the OE provides the common framework in which warfighting programs and strategies are conceived, defined, and executed. It is a living foundation in which choices made, by adversary and allies alike, affect the outcome of the future which must be accounted for. As adversary’s asymmetrical approach to warfare continues to generate greater complexity and flexibility, the government’s requirement for similar complexity and adaptability in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) escalates correspondingly.
TRADOC Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G-2)’s mission is to understand, visualize, describe, deliver & assess the OE in order to reduce risk and prevent surprise; today and into the future 2035+. TRADOC G-2 is the designated Lead for Core Function #13 Operational Environment; the process of developing, verifying, validating, accrediting, and providing OE products and services represents an authoritative, validated OE contextual baseline for TRADOC users and operational forces in the areas of training and training development; education; leader development; concept and doctrine development; and capabilities development, integration, and evaluation.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Shall provide Socratic, graduate level course instruction both in residence at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and as an MTT event. Approximately 2/3 of the work year will be consumed with teaching responsibilities. The balance of the work year will involve courseware review which will involve maintaining and updating UFMCS lesson plans for submission to the Army’s Training Development Capability (TDC) portal. Non-instruction requirements will also include producing articles and other material for professional publication.
- Develop and provide graduate level seminar instruction in residence and as a MTT.
- Modify and refine existing curricula contents and red team tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) in accordance with guidance from Government appointed personnel.
- In coordination with the UFMCS Curriculum section, identify subject matter expert (SME) requirements associated with an assigned POI.
- Comply with course production guidelines as published in the UFMCS Course Production standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Maintain proficiency with UFMCS curriculum, and review publications with the potential for enriching the curriculum as needed. Contractors may also be assigned as lead author for specific blocks of instruction within the curriculum. In this instance, contractors shall be responsible for the development of block specific course material.
- Provide seminar instruction meet the following elements of performance:
- Issue and support student surveys and after action reviews.
- Evaluate students in accordance with government provided standards including written, oral and exercise performance.
- Manage course calendars to assure effective use of SMEs. Coordinate with SMEs to ensure they meet requirements as developed in course elements of learning objectives. • Conduct seminars using the Socratic Method.
- Develop insightful questions to drive discussion in seminar and coordinate those questions as required with SMEs.
- Engage with students, faculty, and graduates on red team central.
- Conduct practical exercises in support of teaching Red Team TTPs, in accordance with the UFMCS course production SOP. • Plan for and lead Operational Experiences (OX). To the extent feasible, OXs should support US Army units and organizations.
- Coordinate and execute a substitute OX when OXs are in support of US Army units and organizations are unavailable.
Required Qualifications:
Must have five years of related experience with the below tasks:

Travel: Approximately 25% travel is required
