Senior Accountant from Foster McKay

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company located near Bedminster, NJ, is seeking a Senior Accountant for a long-term consulting position.

***This role will be hybrid. ***

The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance Controller with the responsibility of overall close process, which encompasses financial reporting, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with the annual and interim audits, monthly reporting to Corporate Headquarters and other accounting duties as required.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Finance controller with all financial/accounting related operation activities, responsible for month end closing which includes fixed assets/prepays/accruals, account and Bank reconciliations.
• Responsible for ensuring that accruals are properly documented in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations with proper supporting account analysis and reconciliations with sub ledgers, when applicable.
• Assist the Finance Controller with the monthly financial reporting to Corporate Headquarters (BFC submissions) ensuring accuracy of the reporting.
• Responsible for performing intercompany reconciliations with France and Canada.
• Assist Finance Controller with sales tax filing.
• Interface with external auditors for the year-end and interim audits to provide documentation, as related to general entries and account analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business management
• 5 years of experience in accounting
• Well organized and can effectively prioritize workflow and improve period-end closing procedures and processes.
• Accurate and respect timelines
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, financial statements, and projections.
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook email applications and SAP.
