About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with strong supervisory experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and experience managing a team of junior accountants. This position will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the continuous improvement of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, month-end closing processes, and financial reporting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of junior accountants, providing guidance, feedback, and training to ensure team success.
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Manage and maintain the company's accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial analysis and insights.
- Lead the implementation of process improvements and automation in accounting workflows.
- Collaborate with external auditors to support annual audits and other financial reviews.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Reconcile complex accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial data.
- Handle special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management.
Qualifications
- 3+ years accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
- CPA or CPA pursuant
