Tech USA is seeking a Senior Accountant for our client in Lincoln, AL Metro Area. The right person for this role is a technical accounting practitioner with heavy audit experience backed by a strong foundation in public accounting and manufacturing environments.
Summary:
Senior Accountant is to help design, develop and maintain GAAP compliant financial statements and records along with designing implementing and maintaining various control processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
We are looking for a Senior Accountant overseeing financial transactions including month and year-end closing processes, journal entries, monthly closings, and general ledger account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant is to assist in the production of timely and accurate GAAP compliant financial statements, serve as a liaison between the company and public accounting firms, own the annual financial audit and various internal audits as necessary for process improvement and systems conversion.
Further responsibilities include assisting in the improvement of financial processes through the development and implementation of better systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial information. They will also participate and help drive improvements as part of ERP systems conversion project taking place in 2023.
Responsibilities:
• Support finance leadership in preparing the company's income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial reporting and account reconciliations that supports both internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive the year-end financial audit and serve as primary liaison between company and the Public Accounting firm regarding statutory audits, physical inventory, and taxation.
• Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes including transactions arising from various general accounting and system generated data & transactions including AR, AP, Payroll, Inventory, Fixed Asset activity, etc.
• Maintain Fixed asset records and ensure compliance with lease accounting standard ASC 842.
• Monitor, analyze and prepare reports on/for various financial accounting data.
• Develop and complete process audits and supporting documentation to assist and educate teams involved in processes, support system conversion and monitor for on-going compliance.
• Make recommendations to improve systems, processes and procedures and initiate corrective action, as necessary.
• Assist with other special projects, including system implementations, standardization efforts and ad-hoc reporting.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA with recent certification.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience with public accounting firm
• Sense of urgency
• Excellent technical accounting proficiency.
• Ability to analyze and process high volumes of information and prepare meaningful management reporting.
• Ability to build trust and credibility with business partners and key finance and operations stakeholders
