One of Vaco's global logistics and supply chain clients is looking to onboard a Lead Accountant to support GL accounting. Great opportunity for someone to come in with limited experience and potentially grow and learn a lot, get exposure to the international side of the business, understand those rules and regs, and learn how they do accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Present financial reports to senior management.
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to foster professional development and ensure high-quality work.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal controls, preparing for and supporting audits.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies in accounting operations, implementing best practices as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial performance and variances.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
