Riverside Research is looking for a Senior Accountant who will assist with the day-to-day transactional accounting operations of the organization. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, in this position, you will primarily engage with the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, review timesheets and expense reports, ensuring all accounting policies of the organization are followed.

- Enter monthly journal entries related to prepaid, fixed assets, payroll, direct and indirect accruals, and any necessary adjustments.
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
- Responsible for project set up for Indirect charge codes and assigning employees to the appropriate charge codes during onboarding.
- Assist with the review of employee timesheets for compliance with timekeeping policies and procedures.
- Assist with extracting labor from Time & Expense.
- Responsible for ensuring employee requests for Deltek Costpoint timesheet corrections and expense report issues are addressed and resolved timely.
- Assist Accounting Manager with revenue recognition review.
- Assist with monthly review and test transactions for compliance with policies and procedures.
- Act as back-up for processing cash receipts.
- Act as back-up for expense report review in Deltek Time & Expense.
- Complete property tax returns and assist manager with research to resolve any tax issues.
- Create reports for departments or business units as assigned.
- Create variance analysis reports on the P&L.
- Complete and reconcile Incurred Cost Submission.
- Support various external audits including financial statement and various government audits.
- Provide ad hoc support to team members as well as cover critical functions while team members are on leave.
- Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
This position requires 3 days in the office.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Government Contracting accounting experience
- At least 5 years of experience with Deltek T&E and Costpoint
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Internal Controls, Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Intermediate to advance skill with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with solid organization skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Costpoint 8.1 or 8.2 including T&E
- Ability to quickly adapt to company policies and processes.
