Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA designation and have a solid background in government contracting. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and auditing processes, ensuring our organization meets all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and federal regulations.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting for government contracts.
Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
Maintain compliance with government contracting regulations, including FAR and CAS.
Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and project teams.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Stay current on accounting trends and regulations relevant to government contracting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on government contracting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and CAS regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
