We are on the hunt for a highly-analytical and qualified Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will not only be an individual contributor but also a thought leader with a strong understanding of general accounting. You will be responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing company budgets, and developing forecasts.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
2. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
4. Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
5. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
6. Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits.
7. Conduct regular ledger entries, reconciliations, and assist in monthly close processes.
8. Analyze financial reports and identify fiscal trends that need to be addressed.
9. Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions.
10. Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
11. Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s preferred).
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, or progress towards, is highly desired.
3. Proven experience as a senior accountant with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel, and familiarity with accounting software packages.
6. Proven ability in numerical and analytical accuracy.
7. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
10. Able to analyze financial records and transfer information.
11. Self-motivated and self-directed.
12. Accurate and precise attention to detail.
13. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
14. Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
15. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
