TalentSource360 is assisting a healthcare client in their search for a Senior Accountant with a strong background in healthcare practice accounting. This role will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing compliance, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic financial insights specific to a medical practice setting. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and experience in healthcare financial management, including navigating regulations, patient revenue cycles, and healthcare-specific financial analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Generate month-end and year-end financial statements tailored to healthcare operations.
- Manage AP and AR functions, including patient receivables, vendor payments, and cash flow tracking to support the healthcare practice’s liquidity needs
- : Oversee revenue cycle activities, including billing, collections, and insurance reimbursements. Work closely with clinical departments to optimize revenue and manage patient accounting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, providing variance analysis and advising on cost control measures. Utilize historical data and industry trends to assist in financial forecasting.
- Ensure all accounting processes comply with relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid billing standards).
- Identify areas for improvement within accounting procedures, implementing new processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a healthcare environment (physician practice, hospital, medical office, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing practices, revenue cycle, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in various accounting software packages
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience with financial modeling and advanced proficiency in Excel.
