About the Job
An Engineering company in Somerset County is a growing Civil Engineering firm with office locations across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The firm provides land development and municipal engineering services.
They are looking for a Senior Accountant for their growing Firm. This person will part of the internal operations team and work in their Somerset County office. This individual will report to the Accounting Manager and help support the company's financial ancial process. This is a full-time role.
Primary Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Perform monthly general ledger close through to the trial balance
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries
- Prepare journal entries for required reclassifications, and monthly accruals.
- Record company payroll/tax disbursement and journal entries for pay, taxes, 401k and FSA.
- Maintain monthly prepayment and amortization schedules.
- Maintain monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly account analysis and reconciliations.
- Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Review expense reports to ensure compliance with company's policy.
- Ensure all A/P invoices, expenses, check requests, etc. are processed accurately and timely.
- Prepare and issue 1099s to consultants/vendors.
- Compile materials for year-end financial statements and tax planning for outside accounting firm.
- Identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office with superior Excel skills
- Architecture and Engineering (A&E) Industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Deltek Vision a strong plus
- Highly analytical with strong writing and verbal communications skills
- Highly organized with an eye for detail and problem solving.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a team environment and independently.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding company accounts.
