POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As the Senior Accountant you will support the Director of Finance in all accounting and financial reporting functions at our YMCA. It is anticipated that this position will require approximately 30 hrs. per week.

REPORTS TO:
Director of Finance
PAY RANGE:
$35.00/hour - $38.00/hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPAY RANGE:
- Conduct reconciliations and analyses, and support the annual audit functions.
- Process bank information; coordinate contact with banking institutions.
- Create, input, and maintain journal entries.
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analysis, etc.
- Support the monthly accounting close.
- Assist with month-end and other report processing.
- Follow and enforce internal controls and other policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Process gifts/donations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and general ledger applications
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to think strategically, synthesize business/financial data & develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
- Strong oral & written, communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
- 4 Year college degree with an accounting emphasis. Additional years of experience may offset a portion of the educational requirement.
- 3-5 year’s experience in general accounting functions (A/R, A/P, G/L, A/R, account reconciliations and analysis.
